The Fundamental Rights Report 2023 of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) was published on 08.06.2023. The report addresses developments and shortcomings in human rights protection in the EU in 2022, with a particular focus on the impact of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine on fundamental rights in the EU. It highlights that women and children who have fled Ukraine are at particular risk of exploitation and trafficking upon arrival in the EU. It calls for more support to be provided to victims of sexual violence and exploitation. Increasing child poverty, widespread hatred and the protection of rights in technological change are other human rights issues addressed in the report.
