The KOK is committed to implementing, improving, and upholding national and international standards as well as human rights obligations in the support and treatment of affected persons. The association advocates for the legal and social equality of migrants and German nationals. Its work aims to strengthen protection against Trafficking in Human Beings and to raise public awareness of trafficking, labour exploitation, and violence in the migration process. The KOK seeks to advance a women’s and human rights perspective in politics and society. Ensuring the sustainable existence and funding of support structures for affected persons is considered essential.

- Nationwide and international networking of specialised counselling centres and other NGOs
- Training courses on the topics Trafficking in Human BeingsExploitation, victims' rights and victim protection for authorities, police, professionals and civil society
- Raising public awareness of the issue Trafficking in Human Beings and violence against migrants
- Advocacy work
- Monitoring and supporting the implementation of UN or Council of Europe conventions
- Statements on relevant draft laws and publications on Trafficking in Human Beings and exploitation
- Evaluation of relevant judgments in a case law database
- Collection and analysis of data on affected individuals in counselling practice
