UNODC launches Toolkit for practitioners

In a newly released publication UNODC shares new approaches for mainstreaming human rights and gender equality in criminal justice responses to trafficking in human beings and migrant smuggling

Within the Framework of Global Action against Trafficking in Persons and the Smuggling of Migrants (GLO.ACT) the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) released a new toolkit that centres on a human rights and gender equality approach to trafficking in human beings and migrant smuggling. The Toolkit encompasses a variety of tools that can support practitioners to integrate human rights and gender equality approaches in their work with trafficking persons and migrants. Addressing further vulnerabilities, supply chains and prevention challenges among others. Using different building blocks, the toolkit is set up for use at any stage in the process to a more rights based implementation of the work being done around the world and addresses the specific phases of support with practical and theoretical approaches.
