KOK-BKA cooperation workshop for the police and counselling centres

The BKA (Federal Criminal Police Office) and the KOK organized together a cooperation workshop for police officers and members of counselling centres for persons affected by trafficking in human beings in the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth on the 16th and 17th of May 2017. The main topics were the reforms of the statutory offences regarding trafficking in human beings and exploitation as well as the handling of the other forms of exploitation (the exploitation of criminal activities and forced begging) in the practice and the cooperation between the different actors.

The workshop was rewarded with great interest. Representatives of counselling centres and the police out of 15 federal states participated. Apart from the input regarding the subject matter, the workshop provided space for an exchange and the possibility to get in touch. While working on case studies, existing cooperation were deepened and future cooperation on a regional level between the different actors were initiated.
