KOK data report on trafficking in human beings and exploitation in Germany

KOK publishes its 2nd report on data collection in the thematic field of trafficking in human beings and exploitation in Germany.

KOK data report 2021

The report contains a first evaluation of the KOK data tool with over 700 cases of trafficking in human beings and exploitation entered between January 2020 and the end of June 2021. Compared to the situation report on trafficking in human beings published annually by the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), there are clear differences, e.g. in the main countries of origin of the trafficked persons.

KOK would like to discuss the topic of data collection on trafficking in human beings and exploitation in the context of current developments in Germany with experts, practitioners and politicians at a conference on 14 and 15 October 2021 at the Stadtmission Berlin.
What goals can and should data collection on trafficking in human beings pursue? How can international legal requirements be implemented? Are there best practice examples in other countries, what do they look like and what is the status in Germany? These questions will be discussed. Challenges in comprehensively ensuring data protection for marginalised groups on the one hand and civil society, especially for specialised counselling centres for trafficked persons, on the other hand will also be discussed.
