Specialised counselling centres for trafficked persons

Those affected by trafficking in human beings and exploitation are entitled to information, advice and support. Specialised counselling centres also help them enforce other rights, such as access to subsistence benefits, accommodation and healthcare. There are approximately 50 counselling centres supporting trafficked persons and migrants subjected to violence across Germany. Most of them are members of the German NGO Network against Trafficking in Human Beings (KOK). Counselling centres that are members of KOK all follow high quality standards, taking into account the needs of the person and addressing discrimination. Specialised counselling centres advise individuals affected in a comprehensible manner, with their best interest in mind, regardless of their residence status.
